What is Bookstore Romance Day? Started eight years ago, it has been a leading force in raising the profile of romance as a diverse and flourishing genre in bookstores. In those eight years, I've seen romance go from a shelf in the back to tables front and center.
I'm spending this BRD at the Katonah Reading Room in Katonah, NY with Bell Campbell, Heather Eng, Sonja Marcus, Cynthia St. Aubin and Meredith Schorr, I'll bring a bunch of copies of Molly Molloy and the Angel of Death and of the special author editions of The Last Wolf, as well as swag. If you want anything else, just drop a line.
Where can you find Bookstore Romance Day Events? If you can't make it to Katonah, check out the scores of stores that are participating in BRD events on August 15th. I'm guessing there's one near you.
What is the Write Women Book Fest? It's a “woman-focused event for publishing professionals and book lovers.” Authors of romance, fantasy, poetry, YA, children's, mystery and nonfiction, as well as narrators and other publishing types gather for a lovely, lively and intimate group.
On Saturday, I'll be signing, then on Sunday, I'll be moderating a panel on Legends, Lore, Myths: How Magic Worlds Are Made and participating in another panel on the Female Gaze.
As I am trying to reserve my energy, this will be my only event in 2025. I'd love to see you there!
The North Carolina Indie Authors are organizing an auction to help those in Western North Carolina affected by Hurricane Helene. I’ll be donating a signed copy of Molly Molloy & the Angel of Death, as well as signed copies of all five volumes of The Legend of All Wolves in the exclusive Author Editions size. Add to that a $50 Bookshop.Org gift certificate and a lovely plush wolf from the Wolf Conservation Center.
Proceeds will go to Manna Food Bank, World Central Kitchen, Hearts with Hands and Brother Wolf Animal Rescue

What is Cupboard Maker Books? Located in Central Pennsylvania (Harrisburg area), it is a wondrous romance friendly bookstore with 125,000 pre-loved books and 5000 new books. And cats. Not as many cats as books but it’s a great place for your bookstore cat fix!

About: The Write Women Book Fest was created to lift up and amplify women authors and publishing professionals. The festival welcomes all literary organizations and publishing professionals that are either owned or run by women or believes in lifting up women publishing professionals. The festival is meant to be diverse and welcoming to underrepresented groups including femme-identifying and non-binary individuals. We go to a lot of effort to try and keep it affordable, yet sustainable.
